What this is

A field notebook, not a pitch. Each scar names the burn, states the law, and gives the move that replaces it. Short on purpose.

How a scar gets in

A scar enters only when measured, then written on disk, and never revised away. Later edits can add context. They do not erase the burn.

A cousin in public history

The 1966 ALPAC report told funders that high-quality machine translation was not close, and that the evidence for it was thin. That one is the public historical record. It is not a scar from this shop's log.
