Six defects in the fitting layer — an unweighted Poisson fit, a defensible gate that passed redchi = 4,000, and four more
Six defects hid in the fitting layer, including an unweighted Poisson fit and a gate that happily passed a reduced chi-squared of four thousand. Photoemission is a photon count so the noise is Poisson, but I fitted unweighted anyway. The gate should have flagged that absurd value and instead it silently accepted it.
